Conditions

Cats

All cats must be fully vaccinated against Feline Enteritis and Feline Influenza as a minimum and also recommended against Feline Leukaemia , proof of this to be provided to us on a veterinary signed vaccination card, or a medical history sent direct from the Vets, that clearly shows pets name ,vaccinations and dates. All cats will have a primary vaccination course consisting of two injections given 3-4 weeks apart and then an annual booster thereafter. The vaccination history must show proof of all vaccinations and the last vaccine must have been given within the last 12 months. Please be aware that a new or re-started vaccination course can take approximately 3-4 weeks to complete. The initial two vaccinations course must be fully completed at least 14 days prior to the first boarding day with us, so you may require at least 5 weeks before they can be boarded if the vaccinations have not yet been fully administered.

No cat can be accepted into boarding without a valid vaccination history.

Where the vaccination card has been misplaced just ask your vet to email us the vaccination history direct.
Vaccinations are for the protection and well being of your pet which we treat very seriously.

Reading a Cat Vaccination Card:

Feline Enteritis - FIE

Feline Leukaemia - FELV

Cat Flu - FHV,FCV

All cats must be treated for worms and fleas with Veterinary prescribed products such as Stronghold, Advocate, Milbemax or Drontal. Where any worms or fleas are spotted we may provide treatment and will ask you to settle the cost of that treatment and the de-fleaing of the cattery. 1:1 time with cats spotted with flea dirt will be reduced to minimise the risk of cross contamination. Note Frontline + is not a veterinary prescribed product and is not sufficient or effective in treatment of fleas.

We regret no un-neutered cats over the age of 6 months can be accepted into our Cattery unless your veterinary practice has confirmed they are too small to be neutered.

We are happy to consider boarding Fiv cats, our facilities are very well catered to safely accommodate cats with most conditions, please call us to discuss your cats requirements.

Rabbits

All rabbits must be neutered and vaccinated against Myxomatosis , Viral Haemorrhagic Disease (VHD) and VHD2proof of this to be provided on a veterinary signed vaccination card that clearly shows pets name ,vaccinations and dates.

We highly recommend you speak to your veterinary practice about Flea & Mite products especially if they are prone to these conditions, and a Fly strike product particularly for the summer months.

Little Paws N Claws will not be held responsible for any illnesses such as (but not limited to) Myxomatosis, Viral Haemorrhagic Disease, Fly strike, Fleas / Mites or any other diseases.

Whilst we will carry out frequent checks on your pets and ensure that all small animals (rabbits, guinea pigs etc) are kept clean as possible, we will not be held liable in the unfortunate event that they fall ill due to Fly strike.

General Conditions

On receipt of our availability confirmation you should ensure you understand and accept all the Terms and Conditions and return the required documentation as soon as possible, for popular dates the availability may change in a short period of time, so if you do leave it more than 24 hours to return the required documents you are advised to resubmit a fresh availability enquiry.

Only pets from the same home that get on together may share the same pen or run. Should pets be boarded together but then continuously fight aggressively we may need to separate them into individual pens and you will be asked to settle any additional boarding costs involved. Where separate pens are not available due to availability, the pets may need to be collected for their own wellbeing.

You understand the fee payable and the day rate applicable to your pets stay by first referencing the appropriate page (Cat or Small Animal) on our website and then as confirmed in our booking confirmation email. Our fees are charged at a daily rate and include the days of arrival and departure (check in and check out days) unless otherwise agreed. Where pets are collected at a later date than agreed late fees equivalent to the pets day rate will be charged for each additional day unless otherwise agreed. There is a minimum stay period of 3 days per booking unless otherwise agreed.

Christmas and Boxing Day may be charged at double rate.

Unless otherwise agreed the initial payment required to secure a booking will be 50% of the total boarding cost.

Any payment paid is non refundable unless otherwise agreed or only where we can refill the pen for the dates from the cancelled booking.

For bookings of 4 days or less for single occupancy pens the initial minimum payment will be £25.

Where charges need to be subsequently increased due to reasons out of our control (i.e. unexpected Utility tariff increases), we will notify you immediately and at least 30days before boarding so that you may cancel the booking if so required, and the option of a full refund of any monies paid will be given.

Changes to your booking should be notified to us asap so that we can try to accommodate the change and where you are cancelling, refill the space which helps us process possible refunds.

We can provide receipts for all payments received for use with your own Insurance claims.

Unless otherwise agreed the final 50% (remainder) of the total boarding cost must be paid at least 30 days prior to the first boarding day, otherwise your booking will be taken as no longer required and cancelled, and any initial payment made may not be returned (unless we can refill the dates as detailed above).

Owners wishing to collect pets earlier than dates booked may not be entitled to any pro-rata refund unless otherwise agreed.

Any refunds made may be subject to a deduction of an admin fee to account for processing, Bank fee's, printing, postage, any special diet requirements bought in advance etc.

For the avoidance of doubt, any payments made are only transferable or will only be refunded in part or full where we can refill the original booked dates or as otherwise agreed.

The cancellation terms relate to ANY reason for cancellation, including but not limited to; Covid or other pandemic, any local or national lockdown,  travel disruption caused by industrial action, weather, illness, travel restrictions enforced by a local authority the UK or a Foreign Government that affects your booking, and where you have let the pets vaccinations lapse and are not up-to date at time of boarding.

For your information only, payments received are immediately spent on the upfront and ongoing costs incurred in running a licensed Cattery, such as Local Authority Licence, Business Insurance, Waste Collection services , ongoing maintenance and staff training. Without these and other purchases the Local Authority have the powers to close the Cattery and the Cattery may not be ready to accommodate your pets on the desired dates. The Local Authority inspect our premises and processes at least once a year and are entitled to turn up unannounced at anytime for spot checks.

We highly recommend you have appropriate Insurance should you need to amend or cancel your booking and look to claim for any paid and or outstanding Cattery Boarding monies. Whilst we can provide you with receipts for monies paid and or invoices for money due, you are totally responsible for making all your own Insurance claims.

Pets should arrive in appropriate sturdy and secure carriers which we will store until checking out. Collars should be removed before boarding. You are encouraged to bring some of their own items such as blankets, toys and small scratching posts etc to help settle them in during their stay.

All previous and current medical conditions must be stated prior to booking. We are happy to discuss and administer some prescribed medications during your pets stay if required, there may be a nominal fee as a result of the additional care and attention required. You must provide the medication in the containers issued by the vet with the pets name and dosage instructions clearly legible. All medication must be in date. Any deviation to the vets prescription must be accompanied by the vets authority.

Having an 'Emergency contact' for your pets is crucial in case of unexpected situations. It's important to choose someone who is not travelling with you, reliable and has access to your house keys for instances such as delayed flights or evacuation of the cattery at short notice.

Your pets Veterinary care details will be taken at booking ,we will have access to our local vet in Wigmore should it be required. If your pet should appear unwell whilst in our care, we will first try to contact your own vet. Should this not be possible for any reason or and they advise immediate treatment we will enlist the services of our own Veterinary practice (Wigmore Vets, or 'Vets Now' outside of normal hours). Any Veterinary bills must be settled by you on pet collection.

Every care and attention will be given to your pets in our care as if they were our own, we still highly recommend that you maintain your own pet insurance. All our pens are inspected daily for defects and any issues remedied immediately. We accept no liability in the unlikely event that your pet becomes ill or passes away whilst boarding with us. We accept no liability should your pet scratch or gnaw at any wooden caging or shelving and then splinter itself, We accept no liability should your pet jump down from a raised area and injure itself.  Whilst our pens are designed solely with the cats welfare in mind and signed off by the Local Authority & their Veterinary professional, all pets are left entirely at their owner’s risk.
